Dermal Fillers

What is Dermal fillers?

Has the skin on your face lost its firmness and fullness? Do you have deep wrinkles? Or a facial scar? If so, a Dermal filler treatment may be the perfect solution. Dermal filler is a natural gel used to smooth out wrinkles, folds or scars to give your face a younger, refreshed more plumped appearance. If the skin on your face has lost its firmness and fullness, a dermal filler treatment may be the perfect solution. Dermal filler is a naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into the face to smooth wrinkles and folds (especially around the nose and mouth). It is also used to plump out scars or dents in the face and to define and enhance lips.

How long is the procedure?

Each treatment lasts between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the area. Full effects are at their best 7-14 days after treatment and last 6-9 months.

Is it painful?

A topical numbing cream is used for wrinkles to minimise pain and for lip fillers an optional dental block to completely numb the mouth is offered (lasts around 30 mins).

What is the recovery time?

There is often no obvious evidence of treatment, however it can result in minor and temporary swelling and bruising. Most patients return to work on the same day, however a longer period of recovery may be needed for multiple procedures.

What are dermal fillers used for?

Lip augmentation

Nose to mouth grooves (Nasolabial)

Mouth to chin lines (Marionettes)
