What Makes Profhilo Different?
Profhilo® is a unique skin remodelling treatment that works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the skin through the slow release of Hyaluronic Acid (HA).
Unlike other anti-ageing injectables that use fillers to add volume and stretch out the skin, Profhilo uses Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body to hydrate, firm and actually rebuild new, younger-looking skin cells.
This works on reversing the signs of ageing at a cellular level, stimulating new collagen and elastin cells, significantly improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and giving you firmer, more youthful skin on your face.

How Profhilo Works:

The Profhilo Treatment Journey
-Consultation:
The first step in your Profhilo anti-ageing journey is to book a consultation with Lindsey, our Aesthetic Practitioner who carries out all of our Profhilo treatments.
Lindsey will talk to you about what it is you want to achieve from your treatment, as well as making sure you’re a suitable candidate for a Profhilo enhancement treatment. She will talk you through the process and collaborate with you to find a treatment plan that works for you.
Above all, we want you to feel comfortable and safe during your treatment here at Ny Beauti Aesthetics, and to ensure that you’re happy with Lindsey as your aesthetic practitioner.
-Before Your Profhilo Treatment:
If you’re happy with your treatment plan then your Profhilo appointment can be booked in.
Before your treatment, you should avoid blood thinners like aspirin and other anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen or Aleve, fish oil, multivitamins or vitamin E for at least a day beforehand, as they can increase the appearance of bruising after the treatment.
-During Your Profhilo Treatment:
During your treatment, Lindsey can apply a numbing cream to make sure the procedure is comfortable for you. She will mark the areas to be treated and then inject the Profhilo filler using a tiny needle. This can cause some mild discomfort, but most people find it easily tolerable, especially when numbing cream is used.
The entire treatment process usually takes under 30 minutes and has no required recovery time, so you can get back to your day straight after treatment.
-After Your Profhilo Treatment:
After treatment, you may experience mild swelling or bruising, although this usually goes down within a few days, leaving you with a plump, youthful appearance.
You should try and avoid touching the area & or taking part in any intense exercise for 24 hours after treatment to make sure you don’t disturb or displace the Profhilo filler.
The amount of time the filler takes to break down varies from person to person depending on the volume, type and location of filler injected, as well as the natural levels of hyaluronidase in the body. Generally, Profhilo fillers will last for around six months, though optimum results can vary from around three to eighteen months.

-How Many Treatments Will I Need?
*It is recommended to have at least two sessions (one month apart) to achieve optimum results. However, if the skin problems are severe, a third session may be advised. To maintain the results we recommend a top-up treatment session around every 6 months. Your practitioner will provide you with a full treatment plan and advice during your initial consultation.
-How Quickly Will I Notice Results From My Profhilo Treatment?
*You might notice some results immediately following the treatment, but the real magic happens in the weeks to follow, as your skin rebuilds the new collagen and elastin.
Results are typically seen after just two treatment sessions, with a one-month interval between them.
-How Long Do The Profhilo Results Last?
*The results from Profhilo treatments will usually last for up to six months but may vary from individual to individual. For most people, maintenance sessions tend to be required every 6-12 months depending on the level of correction required, your age and lifestyle.
-Are There Any Side Effects?
*Hyaluronic Acid is very well tolerated by the skin as the body also produces HA naturally. The only reported side effects are light bruising and mild swelling at the injection sites, and these generally disappear in a short period of time. This happens because Profhilo is injected with a fine needle, rather than any effect from the Profhilo treatment itself.
-Will I Need To Rest After Treatments?
*We recommend not to exercise on the day of treatment as this can disrupt the placement of the hyaluronic acid and reduce how effective the treatment will be.
When injected using the five-point technique on each side of the face, you may notice some redness and irritation around the injection site. However, this resolves very quickly and will disappear completely by the next day.
You should avoid having further aesthetic or cosmetic procedures for 2 days. It is not recommended to go to a sauna or have a steamy bath for the first few days either. It’s best to stay out of the sun if any bruising or prolonged swelling occurs.
Apart from that, you can get back to your day straight away with no downtime!
-Will People Be Able To Tell I’ve Had “Work Done” Or Look “Over Done”?
*The subtle and gradual results usually mean that people won’t be able to tell you’ve had a treatment, but this depends on the skin condition being treated and the desired outcome.
Profhilo can significantly improve skin laxity by increasing the tissue density of the skin, and some patients have seen a lifted appearance, which can be noticeable but not “fake-looking”.
